APEM Inc steps up a gear for its ESG journey

A large part of Sharon’s new role will be to identify opportunities and partnerships to support other organisations in their own sustainability journey as well as using her significant experience in community projects.

No stranger to delivering sustainable environmental solutions, Sharon started her career as a scientist and in 2009 she became a National Adjudicator for TidyTowns – Europe’s longest running and biggest community programme.

She has also spent over 25 years working with charities and community groups from across the UK and Ireland, building on social capital to deliver strong and enduring initiatives.

Sharon can’t wait to get stuck in and said:

There is a strong appetite from businesses and communities to take the right steps towards sustainability. I am delighted to be able to develop this role and support clients big and small in their path to be more environmentally responsible.

Earlier this year the Group welcomed Kirsty Strannigan, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Director to lead our development in this field.

This will also support our own ESG strategy and progress towards the ambitious goals we have set to demonstrate our commitments, having just received our carbon neutral status for all Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.”
